My perfect summer moisturising duo

I promise you this post isn't sponsored by Garnier! It just so happens that these are the two products I love during the summer months. During summer it's essential to keep moisturised to maintain the summer glow that you may have acquired from going abroad (or this year from the gorgeous weather we've had in the UK!) and the Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days is perfect for hydrating thirsty skin, whilst the Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun is brilliant for maintaining your tan.

Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days

The reason I love this product so much is because it is such a light moisturiser. It's very easily absorbed and leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft. The light scent you get from the Shea Butter isn't heavy and doesn't linger which I quite like in a moisturiser so it doesn't affect the scent of my perfume. I'm unsure as to it's 7 day moisturising claim as I have never actually gone a week without using this product but there has been the odd day where I haven't used it and my skin still feels wonderfully soft. I went for the dry to extra dry formula (there are loads of other skin type formulas available) because my skin does seem to become seriously dry after a days tanning but its also the moisturiser in the range with the best scent (or so I feel!) With it being the extra dry formula I was worried it might be a bit too heavy as a summer moisturiser, after all you don't want to be sitting there for hours waiting for it to sink in! However I needn't have worried because this was not the case at all. Overall I would say this product is perfect for the summer as it's such a light formula and gives you the extra intensive moisturising you may need once you've come out of the summer sun.

The Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days is currently on offer at Boots for £2.09 for 250ml. Absolute bargain!

Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun

This after sun is brilliant for maintaining the tan you may have built up on holiday but is also brilliant for those times when you feel you need a bit of a colour! The after sun does contain a hint of self tan which is why I heed caution to those who are buying this product as their main after sun. When on holiday I use a different after sun (ie. Garnier Body Intensive) as it doesn't contain any self tan as I like to build a natural base first then add to it when I'm home with this after sun. This product is however brilliant for when you're home and want to prolong your tan but if do you want to add that bit extra to your tan whilst away I would still highly recommend it, if that's the kind of thing you're after. Although it does contain some self tan its not too strong and doesn't leave behind the horrible, biscuity scent you often get with fake tan or normal buildable tanning moisturisers, The other thing I love about this after sun is that it has exactly the same texture as a normal moisturiser. What I mean by this is that with other moisturisers which contain self tan, I have found that they often more like a gel than a lotion and don't really add any moisture to my skin. However with this product the colour builds nicely with no patchiness whilst at the same time giving me gorgeously hydrated skin. Normally I don't like to use a moisturiser with added self tan but this is a product I have repurchased a number of times due to very natural colour you can create with it.

This is also available from Boots for £3.74 for 200ml.

Do you have any recommendations for summer skin?

Lots of Love

Soap and Glory Butter Yourself Body Lotion

I have to tell you about this product as it has turned into one of my absolute favourite moisturising products ever. I'm also a massive fan of anything Soap and Glory. For Christmas I was lucky enough to be given a giant haul of Soap and Glory products in the form of their many gifts sets and in one of them was this gorgeous moisturiser. I normally wouldn't have picked this up in boots as I've always been a Righteous Butter fan. But I am so glad this was included in the set otherwise I may never have tried it.  This moisturiser smells just as gorgeous as the other soap and glory products. It has a slightly citrusy smell and contains shea butter, orange water juice and mango oil amongst many other amazing ingredients. I have the pump version (you can also get this in a pot in the body butter version) and find it very handy. However the only annoyance is when the pump sometimes gets blocked. But this is something I can get over as the product is just so darn good. ...

2true Pro Mascara

A few weeks ago I picked up the mascaras from the 2true pro range to test and at £3 each you can't really go wrong. The whole range, which can be found at superdrug, is not only super cheap but also offers really high quality products. The nail varnishes are a particular favourite of mine so thought I would branch out and try a few more products from this drugstore brand. I have to say for a drug store mascara and the price they really are amazing. My favourite is the wow! mascara in the non waterproof version (pink tube). Not only is the packaging gorgeous but this rivals my false eyelashes when I've put on a few coats. At first I wasn't too keen on the plastic wand, as I usually go for a fibre wand however I soon got over this feature due to the amazing volume and length the mascara gave. The second mascara I picked up was the the waterproof version of the wow!mascara (blue tube). I was quite surprised to find this had a completely different wand and I did fin...

Maybelline Baby Lips

Hey Guys So after a long time searching I finally managed to get my hands on the most talked about lip balm this summer, Maybelline's Baby Lips. I don't know if its because there was so much hype surrounding them or because I had such high expectations for this lip balm, but when I finally got it I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with what I'd bought. I bought 'Minty Fresh' and 'Intense Care' mainly because they were the only ones left besides the tinted 'Cherry Lips', which just didn't appeal to me. I always buy lip balm for conditioning purposes so often steer clear of anything that is tinted. Don't get me wrong, I don't actually dislike the product at all I was just expecting a lot more from it due to the stir the range had caused when it came across from the U.S. Both products are fairly decent at moisturising but at the end of the day I don't feel they do much more than a tin of Vaseline which costs half the price....
